About Michelle Green
I am a self taught artist , working mainly with acrylic paints on stretched canvas.
I became serious about painting when I was living in Reefton (Broadway Gallery), on the west coast of New Zealand.
My inspiration comes from the wild and rugged weather of mood and mystery in fog and drama played out by the west coast weather. I was so stirred by this I began my misty trees.
I am also inspired by the grandeur of our mountains and lakes.
When I moved back to Canterbury I became involved with Expiz’Art gallery in Rolleston where I began teaching adult art lessons.
I enjoy inspiring and encouraging my students watching them improve in technique and ability, inspires me.
I feel everybody can paint and there is no wrong. It’s all about technique relaxing and enjoying the experience.
I have exhibited throughout New Zealand and have sold nationally and many internationally .
I now work from my studio in Rolleston , where I teach and exhibit my artworks for sale.
